James F. Nigro, M.D.
Dr. James Nigro received his Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology at Stanford University in 1984. He completed his M.D. degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1988.
He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco in 1991 and a melanoma fellowship also at UCSF in 1992. Dr. Nigro completed his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995 during which time he served as the Chief Resident and the fellow in pediatric dermatology in his final year of residency. Dr. Nigro was board certified in pediatrics in 1991, board certified in dermatology in 1995 and board certified in pediatric dermatology in 2004.
Dr. Nigro was an assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital from 1995-2000. During this time he served as the chief of dermatology at Ben Taub General Hospital. In June of 2000, he joined his wife, Dr. Marjory Nigro, in private practice and since that time he has practiced pediatric dermatology exclusively. He remains on the dermatology faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine on a volunteer basis.
Marjory G. Nigro, M.D.
Marjory G. Nigro, M.D. is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she finished medical school and a dermatology residency, becoming board certified in 1992. She was in private practice and academics for two years and then moved to the United States. She completed a full dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine and became board-certified in the U.S. in 1999. Dr. Nigro served as Chief Resident during her last year of residency.
She volunteers at Ben Taub Hospital Dermatology Clinic teaching Baylor residents and medical students. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, and she serves as the Chairman of the Dermatology Department at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Her practice is devoted to medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Dr. Marjory Nigro has been among the Top Doctors in Houston for the past two years. Dr. Nigro speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Sonali G. Hanson, M.D.
Sonali G. Hanson, M.D. grew up in Houston and completed her college education at Rice University in Houston, graduating magma cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1991. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1995, after marrying her college sweetheart, who also graduated from BCM the same year. She completed an internship in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in 1996 while her husband completed his surgical internship. She then completed her dermatology residency training at Baylor College of Medicine and received her board certification in dermatology in 1999.
She practiced general dermatology for a year in Houston with Suzanne Bruce and Associates while waiting for her husband to complete his residency training in orthopedic surgery at BCM. She then completed a one-year fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, training mainly at St. Louis Children's Hospital, while her husband completed his fellowship in spine surgery at WUSM as well. She returned to Houston the summer of 2001 to begin building her pediatric dermatology practice as her husband began his practice of orthopedic spine surgery in the Texas Medical Center.
She joined Nigro Dermatology Group in March 2004, which allowed her to concentrate on her pediatric dermatology practice. Dr. Hanson became board certified in the subspecialty of pediatric dermatology in October 2004, and she maintains her certification in general dermatology as well.
Dr. Hanson has been a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Texas Dermatological Society since 1995, and she joined the Society for Pediatric Dermatology in 2000. She is also a longstanding member of the Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Hanson and her husband have two children. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at her children's school and spending time with her family. She and her family support various charities, especially those that positively impact the growth and development of children and their health.
Jeanne H. Spedale, M.D.
Dr. Jeanne H. Spedale’s practice focuses on proper skin care and skin cancer prevention. She practices a combination of general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Her cosmetic practice specializes in Botox®, Dysport® and a variety of dermal fillers such as: Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Belotero®, Voluma®, Kybella®, Volbella® and Sculptra®.
She completed her dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 1998. During her final year, she served as Chief Resident. She is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, the Harris County Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Jeanne “J.J.” Spedale is a native of Louisiana who now calls Texas home. She graduated in 1994 from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans. She was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served as president of her senior class. She completed a medical internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
Her volunteer activities include teaching 7th grade Continuing Catholic Education at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She’s an active school volunteer at St. John’s School and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Spedale is also on the Board of Directors of the Houston Area Women’s Center. During her free time, she likes to cook, read and run half marathons. Her son and twin daughters keep her very busy!
Karrie Amor, M.D.
A California native, Karrie Amor, M.D. completed her undergraduate training at the University of California Los Angeles, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inaugurated into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. She then moved to Saint Louis, Missouri to attend the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine where she again received multiple awards and honors, including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, the highest academic distinction awarded to a U.S. medical graduate.
Dr. Amor has lived in Houston, Texas since 2007. She started with a one-year internship in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her specialty training in dermatology at the University of Texas Houston - M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the top-ranked cancer treatment center in the United States. She served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency. Dr. Amor’s clinical interests include medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She has received extensive training in Botox®, Dysport® and a variety of dermal fillers such as: Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Belotero®, Voluma®, Kybella®, Volbella® and Sculptra®
Dr. Amor joined Nigro Dermatology in 2011. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Texas Dermatologic Society and the Houston Dermatologic Society. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Mary Kendall Parker, M.D.
Dr. Mary Kendall Parker grew up in Carthage, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate education. She went on to complete her medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she was elected into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Following graduation from medical school, she moved to St. Louis to complete her internship in internal medicine at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She then completed a three-year dermatology residency at Washington University and served as Chief Resident during her final year. She was active in medical education during her residency training.
Dr. Parker joined Nigro Dermatology in July 2014. She is board certified in dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has an interest in general medical dermatology and surgical procedures.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, cooking and spending time with her husband and family.
Sindy Pang, M.D.
Dr. Sindy Pang grew up in Ames, Iowa. She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University. She received her medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed her Dermatology residence at the University of Texas Health Science Center and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Pang is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, Harris County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Pang practices general and cosmetic dermatology. She believes in treating every patient as a unique individual. She can speak a little Mandarin, Taiwanese and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.
Katie Brawner, MS, PA-C
Katie Brawner, MS,PA-C is a certified physician assistant who focuses on medical dermatology. Katie received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine, where she graduated with High Honors. Prior to earning her PA degree, Katie grew up in Dallas, Texas. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition.
Katie has received specialized training from Dr. Marjory Nigro and regularly pursues additional knowledge through continuing education. She has always had a passion for dermatology and is dedicated to providing her patients with committed and personalized care.
Katie is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physicians Assistants and the Texas Association of Physician Assistants. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
