Cindy Berthelot, M.D. grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended medical school in Dallas, Texas at the University of Texas Southwestern. She performed her undergraduate work at the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Public Health. After medical school, she completed her intern year in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Berthelot then worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, acting as a clinical study physician and research fellow. Her work during this year included several clinical trials dealing with skin cancers, which led to the FDA approval of medications for skin cancer and cutaneous lymphoma. She is currently completing her dermatology residency at University of Texas at Houston / M.D. Anderson Cancer Center program, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. During her residency and fellowship, she published over 20 articles and book chapters in the field of dermatology.
Dr. Berthelot is very excited to join Nigro Dermatology full time in Fall 2012. She has special interests in general dermatology, skin cancer treatment and prevention, as well as cosmetic fillers, Botox, Dysport and laser therapy.
Dr. Berthelot is fluent in Vietnamese. When not practicing dermatology, she enjoys traveling, cooking, photography, and spending time with her husband.
