About Laura

LAURA SCOTT, MSc, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Nigro Dermatology Group in Houston, Texas. She practices both clinical and cosmetic dermatology, focusing primarily on the evaluation, treatment and prevention of skin cancers.


She enjoys developing personalized skin regimens for her patients, incorporating topical medications and nonsurgical alternatives to facial rejuvenation and revitalization procedures. She has special training in laser skin resurfacing treatment (Fraxel® and noninvasive ultrasound therapy (Ultherapy®).


Laura was raised in both Austin and San Diego, but has spent the last decade in Houston, Texas. She attended Brigham Young University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science. She continued her studies at the University of Edinburgh, in Scotland, where she received her Master of Science in Health and Public Policy. Years after working in policy and caring for her children at home, she returned to medicine to pursue her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Before joining Nigro Dermatology, Laura completed a Geriatric Residency Program through Baylor School of Medicine at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.


Laura is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. She is a member of The American Academy of Physician Assistants, The Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and a Diplomate Member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.


When she is not at work, Laura spends too much of her time watching her kids play sports or shuffling them to birthday parties and not enough time doing other things she enjoys like cycling, running, and traveling.
